Staycations, OrlowSKIcation, Musication, and Corpus Christi

Howdy Ya'll!

It's actually kind of crazy to think we've been in Del Rio for two months already. We've really been taking advantage of our time while in Del Rio. Here are a few pictures of the things we've done:
Clark Days was hosted in our neighboring city Brackettville where they
celebrate their rich culture and history.
Camel Gil

This guy's great-great-grandfather brought camels to
Texas to help with trading routes. Crazy huh?

One thing I'm still baffled at is that there are tons of art galleries and 3 dance studios here. But we still have yet to find a decent restaurant. Good thing I don't mind cooking.
BBQ place close to our house.

The following weekend we went to the Seminole Canyon archaeological site to see ancient rock art. It was actually pretty cool to find out that people managed to live in this kind of climate 12000 years ago!

We finally checked out Lake Amistad a little more. It was a beautiful day when we went but still a little too cold to get in the water.

Even though I've been busy putting my album together, I have gotten pretty lonely without people around me all the time. I'm so grateful for the TV shows House and What Not to Wear for keeping me feeling like I'm an office. And of course I'm grateful for my Zeusy for being my favorite lunchtime buddy.

Other things I do to take breads from the house are walking the cat and baking bread with my new bread maker.  This loaf was a total flop because I didn't push the blades in hard enough and I thought it was funny with a bow.

During the second half of March I was in Utah for a family reunion. It was so so so fun to ski with my family again. We hadn't hit the slopes all together for over 6 years! For us that's long considering parents live in a house IN Park City, UT.

The following week I recorded 6 tracks for my ALBUM!!! But I have absolutely no pictures for that. So you may be asking...did it actually happen? I'll let you be the judge in a few months. While there, I was also asked to play in a music ensemble accompanying a cowboy themed dance recital. I got to perform with my old band mates Ben and Brandon and some other awesome musicians. It was a great break from my recording schedule.

after the performance they had a "Buckaroo Ball." It was so fun to visit
 with everyone!

Love this girl sooooo much and so grateful for her and
Chris letting me stay at their place while recording

After I got back home, Trent and I thought we needed a vacation from all the vacationing. So we drove to Corpus Christi for a fun Easter weekend. Perfect weather (but we both got super sunburned). So Relaxing.
Jellyfish!

Off-roading on the sand dunes and the beach. Roberta loved it!
