exploring the tide pools in corona del mar
I don't like play the my-life-is-busier-than-yours game but I'm pooped! For instance, this past week I have:
- performed in 5 different venues in UT
- turned in around 10 pages
- drafted an additional 7 pages
- applied to 6 different internships with individual cover letters
- created two very different program outlines (one for a fireside, another for a grad party)
Next week I will
- perform 3 more times
- take 3 quizzes and 1 GIGANTIC TEST
- miss 2 days of school due to 16 hours of required event work
- write 8-15 more pages
- apply 6 more times (hopefully)
Super fun! It's really just these few weeks. I'm hoping things will cool off after the 23rd (HUNGERGAMES~@!#*$&@**#@). How/why am I writing this blog you ask? procrastination, senioritis, apathy...
As for life since my last update, I still live for the weekends.Trent, Mike, Lauren, and I drove to California the weekend after presidents day for a mid-semester break. I wanted to visit my parents and extended family and Mike and Lauren went to their nephew's baptism. It was so much fun to remember the familiar city I hadn't visited for nearly a decade. Plus it was also the perfect b-day gift for Trent.
awesome pelican that was just walkin around the balboa pier like it was his.
Trent openin' his presents. From left: new shrunken wedding ring (due to all the weight he's lost!), fogless mirror for the shower, $ for suit tailoring, and egg mcmuffin maker.
at the "green park" next to my old house where my most favorite childhood memories where made with Tikey (my imaginary friend) and the sand monster (dad)
night bike ride to the pier
The day we left to go back to UT, we visited Knott's Betty Farm. It was SO FUN and really stress relieving. This is a pic of us riding Ghostrider which was our first and last ride. We love'd it despite the rain that day. But Trent was a little sick on the ride home :(
Zeusy has a new favorite spot to hide. Although I'm afraid he won't be able to fit in it much longer. He's getting HUGE! I love my Savannah Cat <3
Trent and I went to see an acoustic concert with GUSTER, one of our favorite bands. Every time I say that I hear my mom's voice in my head "but every band is 'your favorite.'" But this is one of the few Trent and I have in common! It was so neat to see a band I've listened to for such a large part of my life.
Here's a picture of my band, Mountain Strings, giving a "Jeanette salute!" We made it up to show our respect for our dear Tour director and cue the band when we need to straighten up and stop jammin' or having too much fun (cause us bandy's have a bouncin' party at the back of the bus). We are actually at the Salt Flats driving from Elko to Weber State University.
As for Trent: He's doing great. He's study hard and working on the thesis writing. Also he's been interviewing with companies across the US. For a while I was sure we would end up in Houston but now I feel we could go anywhere! Currently we are looking at Savannah, GA; Springville, UT; Houston, TX; Everett, WA; Charleston, SC; and Chicago, IL. It's pretty exciting to have so many options at our fingertips! Where do you think we'll end up?
