Comments:
- On Sunday, Trent and I slept in. Trent kept saying the amount we're walkin' is comparable to a missionary's day. Only we've slept about 6 hours at night.
- At around noon we headed off to the train station where we bought tickets to Segovia, one of the cities in Spain competing to be the 2016 "city of culture." After yesterday, I certainly thought it should win. For more information on the city, click this.

aqueducts created in 1 AD to supply water to the city. We didn't really figure out how they brought the water though...

- the city is full of tourist attractions. Take a look at this funky carousel. Notice what the children are riding on? I want to ride a pterodactyl skeleton!

- In the central square of the city, there is a beautiful gothic style cathedral.

don't you think it looks like the SLC temple at this angle?

- The walk through the city is next to a wall protecting the city, at the end of the wall is the Alcazar, a castle designed by Phillip II.

- At the end of the day we came back to Rafael's place where we ate a "goodbye Madrid" dinner, packed, and headed back to the Chamartin train station for our first night train! We slept on reclining chairs. In other words, we did not sleep.

thank you Rafael!

- Trent and I have a couple funny toilet experiences:
I went to the bathroom at a cafe in Segovia and as I was...doing my business, I heard water...like someone flushed a toilet even though I was the only person in there. I look behind me and saw tons of water seeping out of the toilet bottom. It flowed so quickly I had to run out of the bathroom. I ran out of the cafe too which probably looked suspicious.

Trent went to the train station McDonald's bathroom after we arrived in Barcelona. The normal stalls were already in use so he went to the handicapped one. There was a HUGE dump on the toilet seat! Fortunately, Trent only had to #1 so he could still to his business.

Chao for now!

  2. Yuck! I can't stand the bathroom experiences either. That's gross. Other than that....the pictures are beautiful and it sounds like you are having fun except for the lack of sleep. Love that you are posting to the blog everyday. That is amazing!
