Almost Forgot

1 year. People always say that the first year's the hardest. If that's true, bring on tomorrow! Marrying Trent was the best decision I could have ever made. It's been nothing less than a fantastic adventure. Since marrying him, Trent and I have:
  • Been to 5 countries
  • Visited 6 states
  • Treated ourselves to several weekend trips like 6 Flags in San Antonio, Austin, Park City, and Victoria
  • LIVED in Houston, TX (something I never thought I'd do)
  • Hosted 9 parties
  • Been each other's SCUBA diving buddies
  • Caught one another's colds 3 times
  • Made tons of new married friends
  • And witnessed many of our friends get married too!

I feel so lucky and blessed to have met such as supportive, loving, PATIENT and understanding husband. Lately I've noticed all the noise in my classes about dating life and the drama lugged around with it. I loved dating so much, but I'd choose this life every time. Since being married, I've written 12 new songs. I'd like to give an excerpt of one called "Meet me in the Secrets":

"there's a hole, there's a holiness for time and love,
Deeper than the roots.
It's magical, the way push quickly turns to shove
Words water down and dilute"

Words cannot describe the deep and truly sacred connection I have with Trent. Love is so much more than this earthly state can comprehend and I feel I've just started to learn this thanks to the love of my dear...my love...my Trent.

We're two peas in a pod and couldn't be happier :)

Christmas and New Years 2010

After finals we flew up to Washington where we spent Christmas. Trent's family is twice as big as mine and with 3 times as many children. So again, a majority of our time was spent playing hide and go seek, peek-a-boo, watching My Little Pony and Lightning McQueen, rolling around, sucking dried prunes, wrestling and shakin' our booties.

During our trip, Trent and I decided to take a break from break and celebrate our 1st year anniversary in Victoria. The trip was PERFECT. We found a fantastic deal at the Magnolia Hotel, went sight seeing to all parts of Vancouver Island, and, of course, spoiled ourselves with delicious seafood entrees and other authentic Victoria, CA dishes.

Did I mention how good of a deal we got? 60% off a 4 star!

Eating at a delicious Italian Restaurant called Fiamo

The second day there we drove to a beach about an hour NW of Victoria.
We then went to a quaint Bed and Breakfast for lunch. After driving
back we checked out the beautiful Craigdarroch Castle.

China Town smiling at the Lion

On Christmas night, Trent, Sandy, Richard and I drove to Snoqualmie Falls. It was such a sight to look at it in the nighttime.

The all of the Hartman's came together the day after Christmas and ate delicious ham, read through Luke 2, sang Christmas songs and participated in a gift exchange. It was extremely fun and entertaining. More than anything it was just great to be together as one big happy family.

The following day Trent and I helped John (our brother-in-law) with his big project of fixing the upstair bathroom. After helping he took us out to a Korean BBQ. Trent and I had never gone to one and boy were we impressed. If you have never been to one before There is a great big grill in the middle of each table. The servers bring you the meat you want and you cook it yourself. It probably wouldn't have been so good if we hadn't had John their to cook for us. Thanks so much for the delicious meal John!
So altogether Trent and my break was great. It was busy and relaxing. Our favorite memories from the Trip are: the day after christmas, going to the temple with all the siblings and spouses, eating green smoothies, listening to the monks at St. Mark's cathedral, playing pranks with a life size cardboard police man, going to the Pacific Science Center, meeting with old friends (Kelsey, Tori, Garth& Jessica, and Andy), and of course Hand Shaven Noodles from Shanghai Garden!

Weddings, birthday and end of the semester 2010

This was Trent's solution to a hard chair after hurting his back lifting weights.

Hello friends and family. Happy Wedding, Thanksgiving, end of fall semester, Birthday (to me), 1st Anniversary, Christmas, and New Year! Whew, we made it!

Just before Thanksgiving break, one of my best friends Bridgette married her best friend Christian. Trent and I had the honor to attend their sealing in the Salt Lake temple. It was truly remarkable and special to be there on her special day! Trent and I love Bridgette and Christian and cannot wait for our adventures together in the future!

After Salsa Dancing at Bridgette's Bachelorette Party.
We kidnapped her before and made her wear silly clothes!

Such a good lookin couple :)

Isn't she the prettiest bride you've ever seen? And doesn't she have such good looking friends?

Another shout out to my great friend Lauren who left for
massage school in Huntington Beach. I already miss her so much!

Trent and I spent Thanksgiving with my whole immediate family in Las Vegas. It's baby central these days at our family reunions so we spent a lot of time watching "choo choo soul" on Youtube, playing superman, dancing to the piano music, regurgitating squash, and smiling and laughing. But don't you dare worry, the grown ups had their times too. One of the nights I put together a "couples feud" game night where we played rounds of Minute to Win It and the Newlywed Game. But more than anything, the favorite activity was: EATING!

The end of the semester was anything but easy for Trent and me. I was working 17 hour days straight with homework, projects and study sessions. The effort was well worth the reward though. I'm pleased to say Trent and I had a very successful semester.

On one of the study days before school got out, one of my FAVORITE bands, OK Go, performed in Salt Lake City. I couldn't resist going and since it was three days from my birthday I thought I had a valid reason to invite my best friends. My whole gang drove through the Friday night traffic and finally made it to the Old Spaghetti Factory. After that delicious meal we went to the concert! It was better than I could have imagined. They could have a show in Las Vegas they are just so creative!

One of their well know songs, Return, they played on Handbells!
