Christmas and New Years 2010

After finals we flew up to Washington where we spent Christmas. Trent's family is twice as big as mine and with 3 times as many children. So again, a majority of our time was spent playing hide and go seek, peek-a-boo, watching My Little Pony and Lightning McQueen, rolling around, sucking dried prunes, wrestling and shakin' our booties.

During our trip, Trent and I decided to take a break from break and celebrate our 1st year anniversary in Victoria. The trip was PERFECT. We found a fantastic deal at the Magnolia Hotel, went sight seeing to all parts of Vancouver Island, and, of course, spoiled ourselves with delicious seafood entrees and other authentic Victoria, CA dishes.

Did I mention how good of a deal we got? 60% off a 4 star!

Eating at a delicious Italian Restaurant called Fiamo

The second day there we drove to a beach about an hour NW of Victoria.
We then went to a quaint Bed and Breakfast for lunch. After driving
back we checked out the beautiful Craigdarroch Castle.

On Christmas night, Trent, Sandy, Richard and I drove to Snoqualmie Falls. It was such a sight to look at it in the nighttime.

The all of the Hartman's came together the day after Christmas and ate delicious ham, read through Luke 2, sang Christmas songs and participated in a gift exchange. It was extremely fun and entertaining. More than anything it was just great to be together as one big happy family.

The following day Trent and I helped John (our brother-in-law) with his big project of fixing the upstair bathroom. After helping he took us out to a Korean BBQ. Trent and I had never gone to one and boy were we impressed. If you have never been to one before There is a great big grill in the middle of each table. The servers bring you the meat you want and you cook it yourself. It probably wouldn't have been so good if we hadn't had John their to cook for us. Thanks so much for the delicious meal John!
So altogether Trent and my break was great. It was busy and relaxing. Our favorite memories from the Trip are: the day after christmas, going to the temple with all the siblings and spouses, eating green smoothies, listening to the monks at St. Mark's cathedral, playing pranks with a life size cardboard police man, going to the Pacific Science Center, meeting with old friends (Kelsey, Tori, Garth& Jessica, and Andy), and of course Hand Shaven Noodles from Shanghai Garden!
